Chef Kecik : Banana Ball

Kakak memang minat sangat masak2 ni. Klau boleh hari2 nak buat cake lah, pancake lah. Klau Mama masak, Kakaklah yang tolong Mama sukatkan beras sekarang ni. Excited sangat!

Adik pun memang copycat. Semua yang Kakak buat, dia nak buat jugak. Jadi sama2lah dua2 tu menyibuk kat dapur, siap tarik kerusi semua nak get better view.

Seperti aktiviti mengupas telur.

sungguh tekun!

menuggu arahan...

Of course lah Mama yang goreng, belum masanya lagi nak suruh Kakak handle minyak panas.
Mudah tetapi menyeronokkan! (cuma yang tak seronok sangat tu part nak kemas lah) Pin It

Lil Chefs: Pancakes!

For the last 2 days, we had been having pancakes for snack time. Chocolate Chips Pancakes. The plus point of being preggy is that you can stuff yourself and put the whole blame on it!

The 2 girls just love them soo much! Kakak prefers the prep and cooking part more of course. For the second time round, she actually did it by herself while I just instructed. She even flipped the pancake in the pan, and lift it out onto the plate!

For cooking preps, it is much easier to use clear and simple instructions. Prepare all the ingredients beforehand, explain briefly what each are, and maybe let them taste. For beginners, use the cups and table/tea spoons measurement. And also, be prepared for the mess! Don't be afraid to let them try harder tasks, like cracking the eggs. Kakak cracked her first egg successfully when she was about 2 years old.

Mixing the ingredients together. Adik not missing out on the fun too!

The camera just don't take pretty pictures. Gotta get a new one! This is by far our fav pancake recipe..its soo fluffy!

Well, Mama just got to show off too! Craved for Roti Jala, didn't have the mould so used the plastic bottle ketchup, this method is everywhere on the net. Some people are just plain genius! Doesn't it look pretty...and with curry its just soo YUM!

And below is a masterpiece by Kakak. She just looove to draw. She would take a piece of paper and a marker, and started to draw whatever she wants. She hates colouring though.
Flowers, picture of herself with long hair, a cat, a bear, ermm the 2 bees are actually squirrels, and below them is the Ipad?? Her tall house, trees and cloud. ~according to Kakak

When baking is a piece of cake...

Alhamdulillah, Mama has managed to do some simple baking with Kakak. We have in fact baked about 6 cakes and brownies so far.

Honestly, I'm always a little (or maybe a lot) short of patience. That's essential for those baking from scratch. The measuring, the mess, the clean-up. Those are always a put-off!

But really, thank goodness for PRE-MIXES! They make my life so much easier! Not to mention, when stress aside, it was definitely fun doing it with Kakak. That's why we don't mind doing it over and over again.

"To me it does not really matter if you decide to simplify things. Don't be too hard on yourself. The most important thing is to have FUN!"

All you need is water, vegetable oil and eggs. How simpler can it be! I would prepare all the things needed, and Kakak would do it all by HERSELF!

We usually buy the Pillsbury's brand as it is Halal certified.

Another chocolate cake!

Tadaa! I made simple ganache to pour over if we did choc cake.

Brownies! Topped with orange-colored icing decorated by Kakak guided by Mama. No wonder its a mess!
The brownies was specially made for Nenek to bring home to Singapore. One for Nenek and another for Nenek Nor. Specially and lovingly made by Amira Balqis.
