Huruf: da na, a
Numbers: 1-20
Arqam: 1-10

New tray this week.  This colourful pegs and pegboard only cost us RM2!
Cutting tray. But Kakak requested for glue and drawing paper as well.
This was what she came up with. New drawing: Cars on road and V-shaped birds.

Doing a little worksheet. But it didn't last long. That's just Kakak.

Finally someone showed interest in this activity. Straws in holes. It was left untouched last week.
Our maths assessment. Counting paper clips substitute for beads as I don't have any. Kakak loves this!

I have decided to fill in our 'Just For Fun'(JFF) activity for this month with letter crafts. So we started with S for snake.

We also did a clay craft of a person.

Since it was so fun, we have decided to make a whole family this week!

Name writing. Able to write her first name on her own alhamdulillah, but sometimes she did forget a letter or two.

When to whisper words of wisdom to your child..

My heart and soul..May Allah guide me in giving the best of both worlds for them amin.

There are said to be 9 best times when you should offer advice to your child, even if its for a minute.

1. Before they go to bed.
2. When they are asleep. (whisper it in their ears)
3. After they take their bath.
4. Upon waking up.
5. After they perform their prayers.
6. After they read the Quran
7. After supplications.
8. After they do exercises.
9. When they are in deep emotion, eg. after being scolded.

Wallahu a'lam.

Face off and a Birthday cake

As we learn about face today, I cut out some facial features (eyes, noses, eyebrows, ears) from mags to do a little craft that will be put inside our "All about Me! booklet".

Items needed:
Cardboard cut as the face
Facial features from magazines
Glue
Yarn for hair

Glue, glue, glue!

Adik was helping making a mess

The face sure looks 'off'' and somewhat eerie..don't u think?! Even Adik would 'bap' (trying to smack it) if she sees it...but Kakak on the other hand adores it and kissed it several times! Well she did put in her heart doing it after all. I also printed some work for her, and instead of writing down the numbers (she is not so into writing, tracing and the likes), I asked her to cut and paste them! She loves it!

Next, we talk a little about her age. She only knows that she is four, but doesn't understand the concept yet. I intended to a montessori birthday walk someday. We will see when..

For now its just a simple tracing sheet, and pasting of cake and candles made of felt.

Pasting the 'choc cake'

Done!

This week we actually had 2 days only of full schooling, as their great-grandma and aunties came over. So the assessments for some main subjects will be carried forward to next week.

I am taking the montessori style approach, with activity trays and 1 to 1 assessment. I hope that this way I can focus on both Kakak and Adik, and lessen Adik's interference when I do lessons with Kakak.

Day 1
Our simple trays/boxes. We got the shelves at Carrefour for only RM30!

No beans at home, so I used dhal instead. They love this!
